We we're going to get the campground
reviews up and ready until Biketoberfest 2004, but when
we came across Dan and Puka (click the pick to
enlarge) we decided to ask them about the campground
and get a picture. They
made sure we got an angle so their satellite disk would
show.
We didn't ask Puka if he took his name from the 6
foot rabbit in the movie "Harvey", but we did ask if the
satellite disk worked. Both Dan and Puka laughed.
Thanks
to Puka and Dan we got the straight take on the cabbage
Patch Campground. Both are from Central Florida and two nicer campers you won't meet.
The cabbage Patch campground is
primitive, very primitive, no electricity, no ..., well you
get the picture, but it's also only $10.00 a night
and there are still plenty of spots available.
It's
shady and there are
plenty of Port-A-Potties and as Dan and Puka told us, there were
showers across the street for $3.00. They have friends and relatives in the area and took showers
at their places. They warned to get to the showers across the street early if you wanted warm water.
If
you are into primitive camping, with entertainment
across the street (the Cabbage Patch Bar), and friendly
campers, you can find it here.
Remember, it's very primitive, close to action
and 15 minutes from Main St.
